Focus Forward

This passage of scripture is one on which I would ideally base my life upon.

I Corinthians 13
When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me.

I’m constantly being reminded of the necessity of completion of a thing prior to picking up something new, otherwise you’re likely to be called back to the “old” thing. You can’t be an adult, until you’re done being a child, is a piece of logic that I’ve learned and taught, but have found surprisingly difficult to live by. Thing is, in this society, with so many children being raised by children, who’s there to teach anyone how to grow up. Who’s there to teach someone how to take that knowledge and apply it, to be able to teach it to the next generation? More than a rhetorical question, that’s what’s haunting me now.
